The English invade!

Day 9.

I had a bit of leeway this morning as Claudio had to go to the post office before work so I could arrive at 9:15, which I duly did. I carried on with tuning, although today I was getting very frustrated and angry as lots of the reeds kept sticking and not sounding properly. A group of five twenty-somethings came to the shop and Claudio quickly repaired a small problem on one of their accordions, before one of them ordered a new one. They stayed for about and hour and a half, so long that Claudio chose to open a bottle of white wine and share it with the. Stefano knew one of them - they had been together at lute-making school in Milan.
Eventually, one and a half hours after closing, we headed home where I enjoyed a lunch of bread rolls, ham, mozzarella and Pecorino. After watching some Top Gear I took a walk into Stradella, given that the light, intermittent rain of the past days had passed. I walked up lots of new roads and came back via a supermarket to pick up milk and a pack of bottled sparkling water, all of which had to be carried home in a rucksack. Thankfully it's only short walk! I stopped for ice cream and enjoyed that on the walk home. I spent the afternoon researching Italy's accordion industry and it's history.
At 19:15 Claudio and I drove into Stradella to pick up Kevin and Liam - two English guys who flew over to discuss the birth of a new range of diatonic accordions with Claudio (small accordions used mainly in English and Irish folk music.) The were surprised when I started speaking to them in English! I explained my situation on the way to pick Stefano up. We drove to Codogno where we met up with Erica, Kleidi, Simone and Michele at Brewfist; a modern brewery restaurant. We all had burgers or ribs - top nosh! I stuck to Fanta and pear juice on the drink front, though! Kleidi and Erica had their first go at Snapchat, with some interesting results - Stephanie can vouch for this! Sorry!
We got back at about midnight, so straight to bed, hence the late posting.

A dopo x
