Day 36.
I overslept by half an hour this morning. Whoops.
When I got to the shop I apologised but they said there wasn't anything to be sorry for. Claudio gave me the task of pinning the reeds into three reed blocks. 4 pins per reed, 126 reeds. You do the maths (clue: it's in the title). That's a lot of hammering! A fair few of the pins didn't go in easily and I tried several tactics to get them in. This job saw me through until lunch, when I had to borrow an umbrella from Claudio to walk home in the heavy rain. It just doesn't stop here at the moment!
After a lunch of focaccia with fresh cherry tomatoes I returned to work with Ivana (Claudio was sleeping) and finished the off the pinning. By the time I'd done that Claudio had arrived. My next move was to apply the valves to all 126 reeds, which took me to 6pm. Claudio was very impressed with my work today, which was good.
At 6:15 Erica took me to the post office to buy a stamp and post something to Stephanie. When we got home I did an hour of accordion practice before making my dinner of pasta with the bolognese sauce I made yesterday. Good stuff! Later in the evening I spoke to Mum, and then Stephanie, on Skype. Time for bed now.
Salve x
