My proposed lie-in didn't happen today. I had just finished getting dressed when Claudio came in and said we were going to Ivana's parents for lunch again. Well, thanks for the warning! I quickly gathered my things and off we went. We stopped off in Stradella first, parking near the town and walking up to the local knife-sharpener's shop, where Claudio left some chisels and files to be sharpened. The shop was fantastic - it was original with wonderful old cupboards, tools everywhere and a glorious belt driven machine, producing nostalgic smells and 'chugging' sounds.
We walked back to the car where we picked Erica up, before driving to the house in the hills. We ate well, as always - pasta al forno, near & chips, strawberries and various desserts, for today was the day of celebration for Mothers' Day.
At 3:15 Simone, Erica and I drove to Broni to watch the last football match of the season. Broni lost (again!) 2-1, thanks to a last minute winner, but at least I finally saw a Broni goal! Simone left early, so at the end of the game Erica and I waited for Kleidi and we all drove to Stradella, where we met Simone and some friends for drinks, although Kleidi chose to go home and watch football instead, much to Erica's annoyance! We soon moved on to another bar before, at 7:30, we headed for the Roadhouse Grill restaurant again for all-you-can-eat-ribs. Kleidi rejoined us, and the ribs were just as good as last time! I had apple pie for dessert.
When we got home I took my temperature while I spoke to Stephanie on Skype ahead of her music AS exam tomorrow! 37.5*C.
Feeling fairly "bleurgh" so bed time now.
